ROCK HOUNDS... NEED YOUR HELP... CAN YOU ID THE ROCK?

Years ago my father had someone tell him exactly what this polished cabochon rock was called... today he can't recall what it was but says if I were to say the name to him he would recognize it. He recalls the person also told him it was a certain rock found primarily in just one state like for example lets say "Arkansas," etc. That's all I have to give you but I'm sure the photos will help... any help from you greatly appreciated!
