While at work yesterday, drove past some road construction downtown by the river. This town is very old with lots of history and they done went and tore up the road for replacement. as I drove by, all could think about is jackpot. They have done all the digging, and if anything, the road has kept the treasures safe for who knows how long. So right after work A T and I went hunting. Lots and lots of junk, but a few good hits. Going back this afternoon.

Military belt buckle, probably Army.

Look as much as you can, while you can. I found LOTS of coins in the town I used to live when they did the streets around the square and all the sidewalks. I even found a foreign coin from 1830 that is almost as old as the town!

Went back and they have pulled up more road, so it looks like they may be at this for a while. I re searched the area and also hit the new area. Found 6 wheats and 1 1980 quarter that I think came from top soil that fell into road. They are also pulling the side walks, so I have lots of area to keep me busy. Cops showed up, all they said was, good idea, then left. Only wheats, but darn sure better than the new stuff.
