I had this battery and sold it with my Etrac.

It REALLY IS a boost in battery time. I didn't try it until a year after my initial charge, and that Etrac cranked right up with full battery charge.

They came out with one for the Excal II, and I jumped on that. Maybe someday they'll do it for the CTX.

I do not know. My best guess would be five or less. The battery came with a very clean used Etrac that I purchased recently. If you're concerned about wearing this battery out, I doubt that could be done in a single person's lifetime.
