River cobble?

Found in Tuolumne County California. A friend found this and then out it in her yard so it has some calcium build up from the sprinklers. Looking for opinions on wether it could be a pestle.

I guess it would work for one. Don't know how you'd demonstrate it was used as a pestle.

I imagine the end would be more "regular" if it pounded in a circular hollow mortar for any time.
