Found myself in my old hood on Wednesday so I decided to visit my old "source" for jewelry/coins. He hooked me up very nicely with the following:

-pair of nice Taxco 925 earrings
-inlay stone 925 men's ring
-"danish modern" 925 men's ring with stone
-working 1925 17 jewels Illinois pocket watch with 14K white gold filled case and unknown watch chain/fob, the chain is probably nickel (doesnt look like sterling)
-working 1916 size 0s 7 jewels Elgin ladies pocket watch with gold filled case, beautiful face

Whole lot run me $80!

A similar Elgin pocket watch went for $123 (it has a slightly nicer case than mine): 1915 0S Elgin 7J Fancy Dial Gold Filled Case Running Strong | eBay

If anyone has the pocket watch encyclopedia and can look up an Illinois serial number, please let me know. Thanks!

Thank you! I was hoping to find the "serial number lookup" similar to what is available for Elgin watches. That database gives you the size, grade, finish, etc...

If I can obtain all the above info I should have a better idea of what this watch is worth.

Here is the information you requested about the Illinois pocket watch-

Ben, were you able to read the info. after I reposted it above? I forget whether you told me or not.

Illinois Pocket Watch Serial Numbers

Good score...love the watches...
besides the serial number...one needs to identify the type of movement in the case...sometimes this is marked...mostly one needs to identify by line drawing.
So you can't see the information I posted in reply #5? All the rest of the info on the watch? I'm asking because Ben said he couldn't see it. So I downloaded the image to my pc then uploaded it on here as an attachment, verus copy & paste which I did first.

no...I could not see any information posted in #5...
that's why I wasted my time...
now, I see a nauseating form ...but cant read it due to size and out of focus.
sorry I attempted to help.
Why are you sorry? I wasn't trying to be a d!ck. I was just asking if you could see it (the "nauseating form" as you put it) because I can't get a response from Ben for some reason and I didn't know if anyone else could see it, literally. He said he couldn't see it, then I reposted it (oct.7) and I have yet to hear from him.
PS- If you click the photo, it will enlarge, come in to focus, and then you can read it. Geesh, sorry I asked.

Are you aware you can click on the photo for an enlarged picture of it? Very readable to me.

Folks, my apologies if there was any confusion.

I asked Diggum to copy the image to his computer and upload it. He did so and now the image is viewable in post # 5. Thank you very much to him for going above and beyond to provide me with this helpful information. You rock!
