Got out with Sniffy for some snowy sloppy cellar hole hunting.
got a few buttons one being a Connecticut Civil War button with a Scovill's back mark. a bell with iron clacker inside that still swings
2 old iron locks.i dug the complete one.Jessie didn't want the incomplete one so,i grabbed it.
No coppers but the year has just begun

Looks like you got a nice old buckle there,
I posted one a while back & replies stated the 2 prong buckles date around 1720
the other buttons ain't too shabby either,
Lots of bells being dug lately, (Got 4 myself in Nov-Dec)
here's a similar shaped one, no plating or clapper.

Ugly tree Man, that tree has character!! Makes you wonder what it may have seen during its lifetime. If I had the section shown in the picture dried and cured, I could make some beautiful Native American flutes.
I guess the old saying is true: "One mans trash is another mans Treasure".
