Somewhere in Minnesota
Detector(s) used
ace 350, whites coinmaster 5000/D
So i know this is the wrong place for this but i dont know where to post it. So i was talking with a guy i met today about coins and he tells me that his wife and him just got divorced and she took his whole collection that was his grandfathers >:( he had coins from world fairs, gold coins, error coins and the whole shubang . Now getting to the good part he said his ex just lost her $20,000 dimond ring at their sons baseball game last week and dosent have a metal detector, so its still at the baseball field, a very small one i might add. He tells me that if i want it to go find it because he got rid of his detector years ago and dosent give a sh** if his wife gets it back. he actually said i hope you find it with a laugh :notworthy:. Also she has only told her family she lost the ring because she didnt want anyone to find it. :laughing7:

I am now very exited and will be hitting that park the whole day tomorrow. from sun up till i find it.

Good luck in your search.

wow - man I have a head lamp and it's cooler at night to hunt!!!! besides you know it's a surface loss.... making it even easier to recover...I'd be out there now. :) ::)

matter of fact this weekend since I've started working nights I plan on doing some long range hiking to the remote hidden places for recoveries- there are some nice places I've been holding off till I've got time to hunt (old foundations along the RR beds, and an old ghost town in the remote hills of north eastern PA)

I would love to hunt for it at night, but the mosquito's up in mn are so bad right now they attack you in mid day let alone night. Also since the park is so close to a rich area its hard to go out at night and not expect some cops or annoying people. Other than that I have already been out twice and have discriminated all coinage but the area is so trashy because of all the baseball games that even a surface find is hard. I have pulled about 150 pulltabs tinfoil and can slaw just from the top of the ground. but i wont let that turn me away.

CAN YOU SAY - BIG FOOT!

low and Slow!!! Id hit every inch of it!!!!!! Day /Night with or with out Help!!!! Finder keepers!!! HH Chug!!!!

hmmmmm for a $20,000 dimond ring I'd pick ever single pice of trash in that park to find it .

Thanks for all the positive encouragement.
For an update on the ring, it is still out there to the best of my knowledge because i have yet to find it.
I dont think anyone else is hunting the park because there is no trace of another m-detectorist being out there.
ALso i am not able to get out there as much as i want because of work and the distance from my place. So i am planning to hit it the entire weekend because its supposed to rain and hopefully all the ball games will be canceled. what else, oh yeah the reason why i dont have others helping me is because i dont know anyone who metal detects in person and i feel if i look for a club or some random person up here who does metal detect, they may keep it for themselves if they do find it :nono:. and that wouldn't be cool.

That ring should only be in the part where the mums jump up and down. so!!!!! thats where I would start. Good luck, looking forward to hearing the good news.
