Ring Thing?

Not sure what this is. It will fit on my pinky finger, but doesn't really look like a typical ring. The only markings on it are inside the band and the marking looks like an elongated number 8. Any ideas?

The figure is a mathematical symbol for infinity. But I can't seem to find out who uses it for a mark. Hallmark Experts will surely know.

Mood ring is correct. It is supposed to change colors. Every kid in school has lost at least one I think as several are found on just about any schoolyard playground. Monty
