Detector(s) used
Gold Bug Pro w/ NEL coil.
Minelab Xterra 705,
Bazooka Snipers (24" and 30").
Royal Folding Sluice with Gold hog mats.
Thompson 12V Puffer Drywasher.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Got all the chores done today and I talked the wife into going down to a local beach this afternoon for an hour or so.
Worked the waters edge and it was pretty quite for the most part.
A dime, a penny then a 50 popped up on my screen.
14K stamped on the inside of band.
Must be white gold? Stones are maybe?
Lots of little diamonds all around it too.Didn't take her long to put it on and it fit perfect.
So much for funding myself a new detector with it.
Probably not worth much anyway.

whoa doggie, that's purdy! :notworthy:

That's Beautiful, Looks modern but with a older design. Congrads!!

my expieriences with a setting of that complexity is that the stones, diamonds and garnets are likely real.small diamonds cost a jeweler almost nothing but raise the retail price considerably. Its the larger diamonds that are almost always cz in a 14k setting. An electronic diamond tester is a great and affordable fathers day gift.they even come in the more complete precious metal test kits.
highly recomended

very nice find !!

Nice indeed, colour looks closer to rubies then garnet imo , If the wifes happy that's the best fund for a new detector :tongue3:

G-Bone, that is a stunning ring find! I needed to put on my sunglasses to view that beauty!

Congratulations on a exquisite find!:notworthy:

Awesome looking ring. I've seen some similar designs that were selling in the $250 price range and that was ten to twelve years ago. Then I've seen some higher, much higher. A ring like that can fool you and photos make it more difficult but from the photos it looks awesome.

:notworthy: Thank you all.

So the big question is, and I get both sides with equal push....
is to A) give it 90 days to try and find the original owner.
or B) I found it - It's mine (I mean my wifes)..period.

The Karma side of me says to at least try to see if someone can identify and return.
If it were my wife's and she lost it, I would be very grateful if someone else did the same.
But, heck this ring could have been floating around for years, starting from who knows where.
And I am sure this topic in itself has been one of heavy discussion on Tnet.

Any who, thank you again all for your praise and input.
I do appreciate that.

Congratz! That is one beautiful ring!!!

It's amazing but all the good stuff I find is just my wife's size too.....

Nice one G-Bone!
Wife's already painted her fingernails to match so I'd say you'll have to postpone that new detector!

When we buy a metal detector we buy it for finding beautiful items old or new in our minds eye. That ring is yours (and now your wifes, lol!) So enjoy your treasure! A keeper and great find in my eye, congratulations!

Do what you think is right and not what others think is right...listen to their opinion but do whats right for you...beautiful find...congrats.

I found a website called "lostandfound.com" and tried searching my area and north and south by 50 miles...nothing.
I am going to give the Local PD a call and see if they have any reports of stolen rings etc.
I'm afraid if I posted on craigslist I would be flooded with BS calls. I don't have time for that.
But a quick check to see if someone posted a "Lost ring ad"
Then I'll have no guilt keeping it.

The Red stones look like they've been in a tumbler for a while.
As does the metal band. So I think it's been traveling in the ocean for a while.
I want to take it to a Jeweler just to get some provenience...and a price :laughing7:.

I SO want to get out there again and hunt.
Thanks again all.

Very unique ring up ho there!
