Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I've been out detecting or posted anything. I hope to get back out there when all the snow melts!

This past summer I found what appears to be a gold ring. I can't find a karat mark inside, but it looks like it's solid gold. It has what appears to be a date on the side of the ring of 1974. So someone probably had it on their finger for 34 years and I think would be missing it. I would really like to find the owner and return it. I've been trying to figure it out by the initials on the face of the ring, but had no luck. I posted it here about 6 months ago and Ant thought it might be what's called a tribal ring. I'm thinking if someone can help me determine who made it, I might have better luck going in that direction. Any help determining the makers mark would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Glenn

Interesting Hallmark or maybe SM ( Store or Sponsor Mark) I'm getting K W N and the N is in the middle of 3 triangles?
the outline looks like an arrowhead..
Did a search on those parameters and nothing.. maybe someone else can shed more light..
If it is a Store Mark maybe emailing the Jeweler can give you a better idea of who bought the ring..
Good luck!

Thanks everyone,

I contacted one of the jewelry manufacturers on Montana Jim's list that has been in business for quite a while. I forwarded the pictures to them. They're going to ask some of their people that have been around a while. Hopefully they can narrow it down more. There's also someones initials inside the ring which I haven't described. That should help me make sure I have the right person if I get that far.

Custom made. If you find the maker, it should be identifiable. Good luck. I like the top under the initials..

I believe the initials are: ANA or AHA. Also on the left side there is an 18 or19 and on the right side a 74, for the year 1874 or1974 (more likely).

Nice find!

Now I see the 18 and the 74. Good observation. It doesnt look 19th century. Maybe the number 18 means something else. :-\
Im sure I saw that ROCH' N.Y. hallmark here at TN before but I cant find it.

Yes, the date is 1974. Someone was probably wearing it for 34 years before they lost it last summer. I'm sure it would mean a lot more to them than it does to me. I believe the initials on the face of the ring are for some type of organization. There are what appears to be the owners initials engraved inside the ring which are different from the initials on the face. As I stated before, I did post this ring this past summer when I found it. That may have been where you saw the ROCH' NY.
