Woke up to -12 degrees this morning. Brrrrr. We've been spaired the heavy snow, but we got plenty cold air. Weatherman says low 40's later today. Kewl. (he lied, it got to 31, lol) My chores today take me downtown to pick up a prescription for the wife. Might be able to get some detecting done, so I dress warm.
The pharmacy says it wont be ready for a couple hours. It's still cold, but I've got some time. I head to the closest park which is right downtown.
Acacia Park, 1 square block downtown Colorado Springs. I normally wont hit this park because it's normally is loaded with high schoolers and the homeless. I've go there early Sunday mornings when I do visit it, but todays pretty cold and the park is empty.
5 quarters into the meter gives me 1 1/4 hours. I'm off! I see pennies in the snow already! Might be a good day. Right to the Tot Lot. I get a signal under the slide. Using my feet I uncover a ring! :hello2: (igotaringigotaringigotaring) Now thats a good start! :headbang: The rest of the tot lot gives 8 cents.
Checking a close by hill I get another signal in the frozen grass. I get a palm sized patch out and find my target is in it. cool. Right then 2 homeless gentlemen walk by and ask if I'm finding anything. I tear open the patch in front of them and theres ANOTHER RING :hello2: (igot2ringsigot2ringsigot2rings) :hello2: It's a cheap aluminum one with no markings, but a ring is a ring. I spoke with these men for awhile and even gave them some cash before they left. Good people who fell on hard times.
So now I got 2 rings and one of my faverot sculptures is right there. Bella and the Bug. I raised Great Danes for over 24 years and I really like this one. Makes for a good backdrop for some picks.
The "Love Waits ring" can be found here

It has a S in it and I was thinking it may be silver, but it seems that its pewter. The other is a cheapo but it's a 2 ring day! :headbang:
Time has run out, the script wont be ready today, so it's time to go home to a peanut butter sandwich and some tomato soup. Mmmmmmmmm

Look Out side the Box!!!

Stand there and let your Mind wander A Bit!!!! Your In a A Semi secluded spot Standing there and looking If I wanted a Seclude spot where no One can see me and or What I Am doing!! Where Would that be Off to the left near the line of bushes Or more Near the Cattail stand on your Right ?????
Every time You hit a new area Think About How it is used everyday and Have a blast!!!! I have actually found my self looking at an area to hunt for up to 20 minutes Imagining how People would Use It!!! Chug

When you are hunting a park In the morning or the afternoon Notice where the Shady areas are and the sunny spots closest to them!!!!

It help's Allot!!!

Nice rings and the peanut butter sam and soup don't look bad either. Sure it hit the spot after those low temps.

Way ahead of you Chug! Them nooks and crannys have paid off well before. I look for hideaways, shadetrees, areas under trees with a view, bottom and top of hills, ect. Yea, I spend a bit of time mentally mapping where I should look.
Great advice my friend!
(How many times have you passed that park? lol)
