I got out for a short hunt today. The area I hunted is a dumping ground that the boro uses as a clean fill zone. If there is any digging done in town and there is extra dirt this is the place it ends up. Most of the piles are either shale or clay. Some of the piles are dark dirt which probally came from someone getting a new sidewalk. I noticed some glass and pottery pieces in these piles. I figured metal detecting these piles might be worth checking out. I found my third ring of the year. It is silver plated and has a red stone. I also found an aluminum Charms Candy token with Abe Lincoln on the front. I found 4 new cents, 1942 wheat and a 1956 dog tag. It was easy digging and I'll be keeping an eye out on the place for new dirt piles to show up. Thanks for looking! DD
