The weather was awful today and it was too windy and rainy to hunt for most of the day. It finally stopped so I went back to my standby school field because I had very little time before dark. I've pulled some interesting stuff from this spot. It always seems to give up something.
I wasn't swinging for two minutes and the very first target I dug turned out to be a small, silver flower charm, not to mention my first one. I was pretty happy when I turned it over and saw .925. It may be small but it's still silver.
I double checked the hole and even found a bit of the wire that held it to the bracelet but there was nothing else. The wire is also marked .925. That's what I call VERY small silver.
My last find of the day was another junk ring that once again had me fooled for a brief moment. It's one of those cheap "gold nugget" type rings. I just don't get the point of those. But, a ring's still a ring.
I also found an interesting iron artifact, a 12 penny pocket spill and assorted clad & trash. I found my first steel whistle that still works (once I got the packed dirt out of it). It looks like it's been down there for quite a while. It's an "Acme Thunderer"; made in England.
I'm too tired to take any more pics tonight so maybe I'll post more tomorrow.
That's pretty much it for now.
Thanks for looking and HH
