Ring #14 was Close but No Cigar

I hit a football field at lunch and got a sweet sounding 12 29 signal on the surface. I popped the plug and saw this:


I'm thinking a gold and diamond cluster ring. I immediately washed it off and saw this:



I got it to the office and cleaned it off but I could tell it was plated.....Dang close but no cigar...well actually I did find a cigar tube on the ground...opened it up and a glass vile was in there. Apparently it is a cologne. I found a picture online of what it looked like. Anyway that was ring #14 for year.

Glen,
The amazing thing was my detector coil was bad. All this time I have been hunting with tons of background noise. I thought is was normal. Bought a 6x8 from a buddy and slapped it on my Etrac and it runs absolutely silent. I am stunned. Maybe my bad coil helped me get my chains recently. Going out Friday. I cant wait to see how it changes the game.

My 8" Sunray is way quieter than my factory. I'd try someone else's factory out before you trash it.

It is definitely bad. I think the cable is the issue. It would not detect anything at all and made random noise.

If you could find all that great stuff with a bad coil I can't wait to see what you find with a good coil ! Bring on the silver and gold !
