I have been lurking on your list for several months and have had a lot of success coin roll hunting. But I had to sign on to tell you what happened last night. I still can not belive it. I was at the grocery store picking up milk and bread. You know the usual things. I had paid for my purchase and was just picking up my bags to leave the store when the cashier behind me started talking to the cashier that had rang up my purchase. She said," Look at this funny looking money I think it is fake." I turned around to see a hand full of silver quarters. I instantly said I would buy them all and handed her a twenty. She had been giving them out for change so I only got nine dollars of the ten dollar roll that someone used to pay for their milk and bread. I was just about in a panic when the other cashier said give them to me. I thought I would not get them. But she counted them and told the other girl that they were just old. I handed her my card and told her if she EVER got funny money like that again to call me and I would come down. So it was Nine Dollars all 1930s and 40s. They fit really well into a book I had decided I would never be able to fill.

Good going! I knew there was a reason I've been paying in cash more these days and looking into the store person's cash register for good stuff!

Nice find.
Any key dates in the quarters?

Your subject line states it best. Congrats!!! Silver quarters are rare so that is a special find.

Happy Holidays................

Hey I was just in Virgina Beach last month. I took my DFX with me and hit the beach in the rain, froze my buns. But found lots of coins, nothing special. So I stopped at a local bank and an older gentleman had dropped off a bunch of rolls of half dollars. I think it was about $250. One roll had 12 90's and another roll had six 40's. It was worth my trip to the beach. I don't remember how many total but it was better than normally found in a box. I was very pleased.
