I went to a new spot, for me, that's been hit hard over the years. Everyone skipped the iron.

I didn't. It had a relatively short Rev War American occupation. I'll go back later when the snakes are gone. One more large ax to put through my cleaning process, and I'll post it. It's a nice double bit kind.

Enjoy. IMG_0618.JPGIMG_0620.JPG

Unless those artifacts were really deep, none of my detectors would have rang an iffy signal on them and I would have dug them. Nice recoveries!

They rang up good on the Deus. I just think the other folks were cherry picking. Found a brass Indian trade bead but can’t find it at the moment.

very cool finds. I was out this morning trying my round coil maxed out on freq to see what it might find in an area that I had already hit hard. found one really big iron washer, a 22 bullet and a 22 brass case. also a few bottle caps that I dug anyways. I was hoping to find some deeper low conductors besides the foil that I found. I had trouble walking in this spot plus the sweat was making it hard to see and this is a spot known for the snakes.

Dirtlooter, do you have snake proof boots? I got some, haven't tried them out yet. Bought them in 2018.

Nice!!! Dang Smokey you lose more relics than I find!!

Losing a brass Indian trade bead is not fun, they are hard to find. I think it's in the auxilliary digging bag.

Hope it turns up. This is what happens to me when I put something in a "safe place".

rubber boots work as well as anything but no

Megalodon, that $5 US gold piece I got a banner for is STILL HIDDEN HERE SOMEWHERE. The carpet guys were in and I hadn't put it in the safe deposit box yet, so I hid it. Very well indeed! I'm beginning to think I gave it to my daughter. And I found the trade bead in brass.

It must be hard to keep track of all those gold finds! Most of us have not had the problem of losing a found gold coin or Indian trade bead.

Having never found one, it would be great to see a pic of that trade bead! Thanks!

And it's in a plastic FLIP no less! That little ax (tomahawk) is about 4" long, the iron balls are grape shots of various sizes.

Nice finds, congrats! :occasion14:

If you find the trade bead please post a picture.

Nice going on the double bit. A cool find.
I had sold a house and the new owners sent a text pic of a extra set of keys I had hid...I had forgot about them. duh.

The double bit ax is cleaned now and I found the bead. Off to the bank and will get pics this pm.
