Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Hunting a Revolutionary War battle site here in New York and found this. It is heavy (like lead), but I think it's metal. Does anyone recognize the "circle and V"? It reminds me of an artillery mark - But I just don't know.

Thanks for the suggestion Tamrock! Anyone else have any ideas? I've been searching images of markings on seals and such, just can't find anything like this.

Is that a roman numeral 1 on the left counterclockwise from the V?

Good catch Spats! I hadn't noticed that at all. :hello2:

You're right. Usually I would be in Congress, or Prescott, running gold prospecting clients and students full-time. I went into semi-retirement a couple of years ago however, so now I have just a few choice consulting and research clients through Arizona Gold Adventures. All of my best Prospecting Instructors now work for themselves or Chris Gholson up in Prescott Valley.

I'll get out for some nuggetshooting in the Bradshaw's this winter, but it's just been too nice here to leave!
