Revolutionary or Civil War? :O

I went metal detcting with my dad at a early 1700s to mid 1800s house site in central Vermont. We went around for a couple of hours finding nothing but square nails, and one leg hold trap. As we were heading back to the car I spotted two stone foundations next to where we had parked, each the same size and about 15-20 feet away from each other in-line. I went and metal detected around them of course! On my second dig I noticed something that looked old... Brass... ...or copper. I think it's a throat from the scabbard of a sword.

You asked what your dug sword-bayonet scabbard BRASS throat is worth:
To civil war relic collectors, it is worth about $25 to $35. You might see one priced higher on the Internet, but remember, there is almost always a significant difference between the asking-price and the actual selling-price. (I frequently see sellers asking ridiculous prices for relics on the Internet.)

But, because yours is brass AND fully-intact AND undamaged, it might be worth as much as $50 to somebody who needs a "perfect" one to rebuild an Original (not Reproduction) scabbard that's missing its throat.
