It was the common mans writing tool circa 1700's. I found one other not as nicely made as this one. Would like to see others please post one if you can. Thanks for looking. HH Dutch

As far as the British found examples are concerned, & ours are more tubular in shape, these where used by stone masons to mark stone before shaping them. Is that the use for this? I can't think of it being anything else? (Stone Masons were not poor)
