Found parts of the HOLY GRAIL...talk about having all emotions at once, excitement of realizing what you have in your hands and heartbreaking, knowing it's in pieces....As Don Troiani mentions in his book Insignia of independence : military buttons, accoutrement plates & gorgets of the American Revolution, last know example was stolen in 1972. Will pound site until mother earth gives up the rest of this beautiful piece!

Steve,

Kind of bitter sweet finding something that rare but only bits and pieces. Here's wishing you can find some more of it on future trips.

still a great find thanks for posing it time to grab some soil in that spot and start sifting like finding a 24 k ring with the diamond missing. lol

Outstanding! Sure it’s not complete but you FOUND one nonetheless! Congrats

The fact you found something that rare even in pieces would still give me shivers up my spine. Excellent recovery and identification. I hope you find the rest. Well done!

Well done on the ID, and best of luck getting more of the pieces. How far apart were these two pieces?

Jesus man I don’t know how to feel lol. That’s an absolutely incredible find! Congrats. Man I wish that had been complete. Still incredible no matter what the condition

That is unbelievable! Hope you find the rest. Has to be there somewhere
