I got out to the field beside my house for a quick after dinner hunt. Not much has come from this particular field...I spent quite some time on it a couple years ago and came out with about a dozen spoons. I went over there tonight with just the intention of swinging the coil and hoping for a stray...but wasn't holding my breath.

The first target I dug I at first thought was a ramrod thimble...but it's too small and is most likely a copper or brass fitting off a tractor. The next target made me think maybe not. It's a broken part of a British Brown Bess musket trigger guard...circa 1760 - 1790 (or so). I really like digging musket parts and I am pleased to add this one to the collection...still looking for the thimble though!

I'm hoping! I'm heading into the city to try some urban digging. Still going after the old stuff but in a different setting! It's a park now but it was once the private residence of the Lt. Gov. I've had some luck here and several 1785 pattern Royal Artillery buttons have been found...but mostly Victorian era.

First off, great find! I'll gladly add Anything musket or rifle related to the display case. Great piece there.

The piece in your last photo I have dug several of at old spots, and I have absolutely no idea what the heck they are. :icon_scratch:

The second piece appears to be a flared end of a copper pipe/tubing. Probably from a gas, water or fuel line.
