I had a great time at yesterday at a Revolutionary War American camp site! My best find was the 1781 One Reale in beautiful shape! This is surprisingly only my second Spanish Silver. My buddy Chuck found a 1736 cut pistareen & my buddy Chris found an early 1700s 2 Reale cob! I saw some amazing finds from others as well including bayonet frogs, Musket parts, around 50 musketballs etc. It was truly a privilege recovering history from a site where men camped that fought for our independence! Congratulations on these amazing finds!

I also like how you took the time and effort to display and label each item. It really helps individuals like myself that are new to the hobby. Keep up the good work.

Some very nice finds. That butt plate is extra cool. The Makers mark add the icing on that cool find. Congrats!

Sounds like you have yourself a pretty incredible site Mangum. The reale is in beautiful condition. Well done!!!

Very well done Mangum. Its just awe-inspiring to think of what was happening on that land 230+ years ago. Brave men on that site were prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for their (and our) freedom. We owe them a lot. BTW since Spanish silvers have been so elusive to you in the past, lets hope your luck has changed and that you find many more before the end of the year.

It is. We are researching to find out who was there, we think it’s a 1782 camp, Northern troops headed home from Charleston. I hope my luck has changed!
