Very interesting find from a site in the Savannah, GA area. Interesting in that the British 52nd Regiment of Foot (Oxfordshire) never served in the Southeastern US during the Revolutionary War. However, the troops were drafted out to 10 other regiments in 1778 and the officers sent back to England for recruiting. It is thought (and makes sense) that their uniforms were redistributed to the Loyalist Colonists. One of these Loyalist with the 52nd Regiment Uniform most likely lived at this site.
