I returned to the site today where I dug the Union Eagle Plate sunday with hopes of finding the wreaths and keeper that complete my new found treasure...

However the day did not start off near as well this time, due to recent rain and a bonehead :BangHead: move on my part I got my truck stuck :help: upon arriving at the site.

After alot of tire spinning and a few choice words,I freed my truck from the grips of the mud.. :hello2:
But feeling bad about the damage to the field I just couldn't hunt enjoyably until I confessed my sin.so I get out the old cell and wouldn't you know it,no signal :icon_scratch:,So with the day going so well, and no phone signal I head to the house to make the call, after making the call and with rain still in the area,I decide to retreat to the bed and try to start the day over, fast forward a couple hours and a good nap later,I again set out on the search for the missing wreaths and keeper that go with the buckle,I spent a good 3 hours searching for the missing parts, however it was not meant to be today.I did dig a few nice keepers and enjoyed the time out in the field,I'll just have to get'm next time .find below my treasures recovered today, enjoy the pics and HH all Soup

It looks like you have a CW era suspender buckle. Nice digs.

Nice Scott!

Don't feel bad I did that last year with the tractor of all things! It had been so muddy that week, I sunk right to the bottom of the engine. :D

Good finds my farming buddy

Well, some days you eat the bear and some days are like today, buddy! How much rain did you get? Must have been ok, although that soil down there just turns to swampy glue. I got dad's tractor so stuck last year that it took a really large one to remove it. Hope the weather holds, looking forward to a sunday hunt. I am going to bring the Tesoro, try a little faster recovery machine.

Matt

nice site pics.. too bad about gettin the truck stuck.. looks like theres some old stuff turning up out there, keep hittin it hard :icon_thumleft:

Nice finds and hopefully the rest of that artifact will come. I buried a back hoe not long ago and could not get a grip anywhere to get it out. I even pulled down a few tree's to climb on and sunk them. Got a d-9 and drug her out after I popped a few chains. I ended up making a pond by mistake!! :dontknow:

hey detect in your ruts! your a few inches deeper. ya never know maby you could turn this thing around. willy

Yep,thats a ring suspender buckle :thumbsup:Stuck sux,I am an artist at it!!

Where is this buckle tongue?

Hey Kuger, thanks for the reply,Im gonna move the buckle over to the Illinois section so my fellow statesmen can see it,they dont venture out much to the big pond...

Thanks Matt, looking forward to Sunday, that bear analogy was quite funny, thanks for the laugh :laughing7:

Thanks Mike, much appreciated ,and thanks for the reply also ;D,you are a credit to the hobby bud...

And to the rest, your replies and compliments are what makes this site what it is...a big  to you all
