Shaun7 now named Shaun'leprechaun'7 or maybe LepreShaun is my lucky mascot after todays 6 hour hunt (Cru'dad did 4 hours):headbang:

Your welcome anytime, my hammered are safe with you:laughing7::icon_scratch:
It was an interesting set of weather with a cold wind, rain & even fairly large hailstones.

I had a outstanding day, specially for this field:

1 broken Jetton
1 Lead Token
3 17th C Buttons
1 17th C Halfpenny Token (plus 1 I taxed off Shaun7, for further research)
Nice Buckle
Tudor Book Clasp
Strange hand made face (looks Medieval)
1929 Halfcrown - can't remember the last one of these largies I found:icon_thumright:
5 Hammered8-)

Great company - great day!

I see a lot of those modern .17 HMR bullets at British digs. Must be a very popular cartridge there.

Oh....hahaha! Don't forget the one that got away:laughing7:

That half crown cleaned up well!

Good to see you outside of your natural environment - 'the couch':laughing7:

Just a bit of lemon juice cleaned it.

Excellent stuff as usual.

:laughing7:

I don't know what's the biggest atcheivment, finding five hammered :notworthy: or prising shaun from the couch. What drugs did you use.:laughing7:

The promise of a hammered, he has enough Stella.

Goodness! A FIVE Hammered Day! Hats off to you, sir!!

Cheers,

Buckles

This field could be easily overlooked, the hammered are pretty much on their own, with very few clues...

They are in most fields I do, although strangely, they seem to have beenn in a little cluster, maybe a split hoard.

Every time I click on one of Crusader's threads and see the finds I feel like I'm wasting my time. Far from the truth but you know what I mean.

You are blessed to have such fantastic sites to hunt. Any single item that you've posted would probably be a find of a lifetime for someone such as myself here in the states.

Your threads are inspiring.

We are blessed with a massive amount of land which has taken years to build up & with our 3rd more 'silent' partner the land options are still increasing. If I look back about 10 years ago, our yearly totals would be similar to our now monthly totals. The increase has been that dramatic. The team has played off all of our strengths & come up with a formula that rarely fails. We have only lost 1 farm (only 2 fields) since we started. What I hope I have proved on here is that working within the Law & honestly with Landowners does breed success. There are many shades of detectorist, & most will hide the gold coin & show the 'average finds'. One of my sayings to the farmers is: 'we will show you everything, whether its a button or a gold coin' Really simple stuff, but how many people do it? (that's where we stand out)
