Went back to the area that was loaded with broken clay pipes. It must be what's called a midden (tip), this time I was armed only with a spade. I dug through what was basically rubble, tree roots, broken pottery, animal bones, broken glass and countless clay pipe fragments. I lasted about 1 hour 30 mins before I called it a day (my back was screaming). I did find some nice pipe bowls though, but I think that's it for me with dump digging.
