Saturday I got about two hours in at the "Buckle Farm", named such due to all the horse tack buckles I've found here. Previous to this, the only good find to come out of this place was the Militia Belt Buckle http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...rca-1850s-militia-belt-plate.html#post5845216. I had not found any coins other than a couple wheat ear pennies and some modern clad. Well this Saturday upon opening my second plug, I found a large silver coin staring at me!
Given the age of the farm I was hoping for Seated or Barber, but had to settle for Walker. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers! I'll take it all day long, even if it is the highest mintage in the series!
I also found a nice pin in good condition. I'm guessing from the 1940s or 50s.
Here are the nicer pieces from the hunt including a suspender buckle and an 1875 Indian Head Penny
Last but not least...the junk. Hot Wheels, Lone Ranger pen knife, and the clasp from a purse (no coins in the hole)
