Morning. My name is Colin and I am a member of an online local history group - The Story of Mumbles based in Mumbles, Swansea, Wales UK. One of our beachcomber members came across a rust encrusted anchor which we managed to clean up and restore. We are having a difficulty in dating the age of the anchor and any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
The area once had a thriving Oyster Industry

Nice recovery and restoration, came out great!

Someone will be able help you date it, but my guess it's definitely 1800s.

How many mouses is the overall length?
Tape measure would work also.
Do the width also.
Cool restoration

Thank you for your interest and reply. I.have attached an image of the Mumbles foreshore in the mid C19th showing an oyster skiff to which the anchor may be associated with.
