Do your research if there is a train track in your town ask the oldtimers if they ever knew anyone who worked for the RR and where they lived.The RR paid in silver dollars in the old days and some people used to put money in mason jars and burry them in the back yard look around where the back steps would have been and check vacant lots close to the RR tracks. you need to talk to people who have lived in town all of their lives. when locating on the beach find the lowest place at low tide and start at the waterline to the foot of the dune it is illegal in most states to detect higher than the foot so Research it!!!!! look for street work around town if they dig up the asphalt or pull up bricks look there they used to be dirt at one time. old county maps from the tax collector will show old home steads that may be gone. Old Bars!!!!! ,look for payphone booth locations lots of coins can be found there. make sure to get permission and restore all holes and remove all trash .LOCATE DIG REPETE. DIGGER DAVE.
