Requesting Gps feature review/demonstration

If it ever even really happens, the GPS will be on your phone, not on the Deus. From what I gather, you will have an app on your phone that, when you dig a target, you tell it to geotag that position and to grab the settings information from the Deus. I really fail to see how useful the settings information will be. I'm not losing any sleep over the lack of this feature. Do you really want to pull your phone out every time you dig a signal?

hey Ironbuzz,
first of all, the "if it really happens" part is advertised among the new features about the V4 on the XP website, so i was hoping maybe i can find someone who covered it in a nutshell review on youtube. I'm trying to understand if what you just told me about the manual sync on the smartphone is right, what software does it use, where does it sync afterwards, computer or else.....what options would be available......what for ?! well data gathering first, and see how this can benefit researches and hunts in various ways......as for the lack of sleep...... there's nothing to worry about ;) thank you for your input..... appreciated

that's exactly what I'm concerned about, not pulling my phone out everytime....just need a demo if someone's willing to...does it need exclusively the remote to function ?

The app is not working yet so no one can demo it for you. The remote merely has a setting to link to the app on your phone. I would suspect you can tag via the remote or the phone but without the app working, can't be sure, unfortunately. XP seems to be focusing on working the kinks out of v 4.0 especially with regard to the Mi6 pinpointer.

I see that vferrari has better explained what I was trying to tell you, and that you understand it now. If you want to take a look at the app itself, without the connection to your detector, you can do that. I did, and was not impressed. GO-DETECT.com - The Next Step for Metal Detection

My thoughts were that it might be helpful when detecting huge fields like they often do in the UK, when you want to make sure you cover the area well. But in the small yards and parks that I hunt, I didn't find it to be worth the added effort.

I have run the beta app and it's not ready for prime time yet, it all syncs through your phone and uses your phones GPS so you will have to have your phone on 100% of the time your using the Dues with the app. It has a few bugs like I said but does work as advertised and I'm sure will be a nice feature once it's officially announced
