I did some social distancing in a sugarcane field in Southern Louisiana with a couple of other Canefield bandits and found this button. I originally didnt think much about it as I thought I was seeing a horse shoe, thought it was a civilian button of sorts. After getting home and looking closer under magnification I saw the star so decided to bring it to my buddy Buckleboy who much more well versed in identifying relics. Once I pointed out the star he got excited and started searching online sources. His excitement grew! As did mine as he informed me of what I had! Republic of Texas Navy cuff button!Listed excavated worth-$1300! tex1.jpgtex2.jpg I also found an awesome first for me, a US belt plate. It's plow damaged but the majority remains including the lead back and hooks. It will be restored.tex10.jpg Keep diggin' everybody!!!

Congrats on the nice relics! :occasion14:

Oh man I love seeing restorations on things like that! Can’t wait to see how it comes out.

Great finds! What an exciting button to find! The belt plate is awesome too! I hope the restoration goes well. It seems that they can work wonders when you have a good amount of it left!

Great find being rare makes it even more of a cool find. That buckle is cool bet theres another one in there. Keep rippin that spot. Tommy
