Not being a CW guy my guess would be Indian wars era general service button. Certainly common enough to be the real deal.

looks real to me as well, my guess would have been the same post-CW

It is post-CW (Indian wars, but pre-great seal button), as evident in the shape of the shield and other design differences. It should be genuine in dug condition (no real reason to fake a general service eagle that is post-CW).
