Replaced rowel on US 1859

Hi all,

Take a peek at this US Model 1859 spur with replaced rowel. It has a No. 1 in the middle and what looks like PSM&C CO around the edge. Anyone have any idea what this came off of? I love pieces like this that tell a story! What did this guy have when he had to replace his rowel!

I'm not positive about this so here go's.
"Pacific Saw Manufacturing Co." Mr. Sheffield made the first circular saw in 1852.
That round spur is probably made to look like a saw blade.

Is the rowel made from silver and what size is it compared to a coin ?

Other Side of Odd Rowel on Spur

The rowel is sheet iron/steel and is about 1.4 inches across. Because the rowel is not centered, it can't be turned around all the way because it would hit the slot, but also it has some sort of raised conical area on the other side. I'll bet somebody has a pic of the complete item that the rowel is a piece of!
