ARepco Repeater is a device which has both a receiver and a transmitter combined to work simultaneously. In other words it will receive and transmit without delay!(of course on different frequency or else the system would intefere with itself) Many businesses and schools use these 20 watt Dimension machines and attach antennas on a tower or pole on the roof to provide a solid signal throughout the mile or so campus. In other words, these Dimension repeaters are meant to be accessed with either handheld radios or mobile radios. (Usually the antennas require 100 feet or more for 10 mile coverage) The system is often set up in a permanent location with an antenna on a tower or pole to provide greater coverage. The person transmits from their handheld or mobile into the machine's receiver and the machine transmits it simultaneously on another frequency at using it's high antennas to provide better coverage to others. However, these units do require a license and be careful because Aerotron-Repco (who makes the Dimension series) produced most of these units for government use on fire, ems, and emergency county frequencies.
I seen a different model of one of these sell on ebay for $40.
