These was found in a yard in New England that also had square nails and ox shoe and gunshot. It reminds. e of the tinkler pieces I have seen posted...but not sure. It has two seams. It has one small hole. It is lightweight. It has copper coloring. It is not magnetic. Any ideas are welcome! Thanks in advance. Being about 2 1/4" a pin cap or parasol tip would be the best guesses.
I'm going with Parasol tip because of the small hole in the side.
I think it would be used for a pin/brad to attach the tip to the shaft.

Thanks all....your reasoning sounds pretty plausible for a parasol tip!
