That is really nice ! Can you put up a pic of the back ? and how did you come by this ? could it be gold or does the pic just make it
look that way ?

Found it in a old house in a trunk... :-)

Thanks thats helpful ! Looks to be relatively modern - perhaps thirty years old - a base metal of some kind - catholic -Mother Mary ?

I'm surprised its that modern, coming from were it came from... hmm interesting

Bountyhuntergirl86, I could certainly be off by a couple of decades - I'm just putting up an opinion based on a hunch .

Most of the stuff that was in the trunk with from the 20's including up fur coat... could it be from that era?

What do you mean accepted version??

Of have found 2 of them myself and you can see from my post I have is older then the other one wich has newer text style like yours. Also there is info posted by others about the medal. Hope that helps.HH

There was a lot controversy in the 1850s about what Catherine de Labolets(?) vision really saw. She was dead by then, so the church just decided that the medal above was the correct version. The other version, made by Vachette, is worth big bucks. The collecting of "apostate" medals is one of my passions. Here's a picture of the controversial medal: Vachette Sacred Heart Virgin Mary Antique Religious by davidjp1927
