Just wanted to know if anyone had seen something like this. Its 6 1/4 inches long and 1 1/2 inch wide at the top. It appears to be made of brass or at least contains brass. Found it near the river where the town started. Thought maybe the were having a revival of some sorts and were blessing the land..? Anyway rather interesting and can't wait to hear your thoughts. Thanks

Is there any early grave yards around there? I guess it could be a property stake to place on the corner of a property line.

You are correct about it being a religious (Mormon most likely) ceremonial tent stake... we have seen them here, but I haven’t yet found the old thread that fully explained them... I’ll keep looking
edit, dang, I can’t find it... I hope someone else remebers better than I do ???

Perhaps @nbenz is remembering the time that 'Heavy22' apparently posted the same item under the name 'Heavy32' three years ago:

DCMATT pointed out that, aside from any possible religious ceremonial symbolism, similar (less ornate) items are available on ebay as novelty paperweights, although the listing he linked to is now long gone.

I would also note that it's remarkably uncorroded for something purported to have been in the soil near a river for a significant amount of time.

Yes they are both me, I started my membership with a previous work email.. and could not access to retrieve password. Just wanted to see if anyone new might know something about the stake. Thanks again
