Took a trip up to the mountains today to hunt an old logging camp area. No old coins, but did find an axe head, buckle, broken bottle, and a button, any info the button would be appreciated. Also stopped by a water fall area down the road, ground was too frozen to dig, so going to have to wait to summer time to hit that.

Great job Air Force 1 with the finds! I also love the waterfall picture. How deep was the button you found and did you find it in an area you knew forces were occupying?

I agree nice relics AF1 and great waterfall photo too.

I found the button about 4 inches down. I was originally looking for an old post office that was there, but a cattle corral now sits there, didn't feel like scavenging through all the cow poop, so I went across the road where it almost looks like a dump area, lots of old bricks and mortar sticking out of the ground. Area was pretty trashy with lots of old rusted scrap metal parts and broken bottles. I plan on going back there again and going through it again to see what else might pop out of the ground. As far as I know, there was never a military camp there so I was quite surprised to find the button there. The 8th Cav from El Paso used to have a camp up near Cloudcroft NM (about 10 miles from where I was digging), but I have yet to find that area yet.

The shaft through the ring are components from a door-knob.

Weather wasn't actually too bad, the ground up by the water fall was frozen, there are some steps off to the left of it to walk up there. Slipped and fell straight on my A$$ walking back down. Saved the ACE 250 but took a bruise to my butt.

Identified the button from American Button Co. 1902-1920, and the medicine bottle is from Furst Mc Ness Co, Freeport Ill.

cool ~ yah u get kind of attached to the little yellow fellow.
gotta same him........
