Hello all,
We braved the cold and mud yesterday afternoon to get back to our Union Civil War camp site. We did not have the luck that we did on our first trip but still came away with some cool stuff. My wife found a nice dropped three ringer, another 3 ringer with something sticking out of the bottom of it (help on this one please). She also came up with a triangle thing off a knapsack strap I believe, brass casing (not sure if it is period or not) but there in no primer. She also found the back of a two piece button, and some camp lead.
I found a total of four pistol bullets, one of which is smaller than the .44 cal (so I am told) ones that I have found. Any help on this one?. I found a 1891 V-nickel, a dropped 3 ringer (which I promptly lost) and a strange looking 3 ringer, I would like some education on this one if possible. Also what looks like a old wrench. Any idea if this is period or farm junk. We found the usual farm junk, horse shoe, square nails and enough wire to re-fence the place. But these are the highlights. Any and all information on these things are welcome. I don't know a ton about this stuff. Thanks for looking.
