Still not finding a whole lot, probably me being lazy, but, I'm entitled. :)

Anyway, outside the clad, here's what I found:

Here's a few closer ups.

IMGA1407.JPG
Flip side of the tea cup.

IMGA1411.JPG

Lead seal thingy

IMGA1412.JPG

Not metal but interesting reading.

IMGA1409.JPG

IMGA1410.JPG

Nothing stamped on it but looks like a remnant of maybe an Owl on the side? Pretty big ring too.

IMGA1414.JPG
IMGA1413.JPG

Fake, I suppose.

IMGA1408.JPG

An airforce academy, something or other.

AND, the surprise:

IMGA1415.JPG

The flip side of the brown boxy thingy.

IMGA1416.JPG

Now, to tell the truth, I didn't have to dig this up to find it but this hobby caused me to be in the right place to find it in a discarded box of stuff. There was only a corner of a shed/house left just off in the woods alongside the field. It was caved in, abandoned, just a basic long ago collapsed shed. But, prying carefully so as to not find a hornet's nest or snake hatchery. I found what was left of a box. In it, was a couple old books, (extremely weathered), and this little boxy thing.

The surprise? This "Whadifind" is known, to me. Do you? Guess if you like. If there's interest, I'll reveal what it is later.

Thanks for peeking!

WOW! I am impressed!!! Not surprised, but definitely impressed. It is indeed a lined, metal glasses case. Complete with specs! How about that for a strange find? :)

Those glasses are cool. How old do you think they are?

Oh my gosh! I have no clue. The books dated back to 1908 or so though.

That help?

I'm not certain, but the nose pieces look like silver. Pretty ornate pair of specs.

Really nice specs.I've never seen a pair like that one.

Id guess those glasses could be before 1900 ish but ive been wrong before...either way nice find alot of people collect that stuff ive sold some in the past on flee bay....you wouldn't believe what they pay for vintage aviation glasses

Sooooo, any ideas on the rest of the finds?

Those are called Pince-nez because of the springy nose piece that holds the in place. Very cool.

That is interesting info, thanks! Did you notice the hole drilled in one lens?

Reminds me of a monocle, or opera glasses.

Thanks again.
