Hi! I’ve been on this site for many years on and off moved around to 3 countries and back at the hunt so decided to create a more up to date profile. More than 7 years ago I got an Ace Garret 250 and still feel pretty amateur haha. I love treasure hunting in all forms, I’ve been focusing a bit of my time on antiques and thrift shops but bounce around.
Here in NZ the weather is fantastic so I have been getting the detector out more frequently and I may be hooked again. I found my first ring the 2nd time I went hunting since living here. Nothing too fancy but silver is always nice.
I also enjoy rock fossicking and beach combing as well. I’m always hunting for something. I just wish My brain could retain more information so I know what to look for at all times. My next venture is an underwater pinpointer for when I go snorkeling. There is one on Amazon I’m keen to buy from the brand dr otek.
I’ll jump right in for advice, I have trouble at the beach as you can imagine with the ace (factory coil) in wetter sand and have tried to turn my sensitivity down to help. I do think from actually finding a piece of metal that my target needs to be solid and unchanging before digging. Could I be missing targets or should I go with the solid target and save myself from digging a phantom target? I can’t really purchase anything at this moment so any tips would be awesome.
Well thanks for the read and I’m always looking for like minded people in the area so shoot me a message if you are near!
