Rehoboth Beach, DE ?

Rehoboth is a town beach. Call and check with the local PD. It should be fine. Just make sure to check how far he moves up or down the coast. Many of DE beaches are in state parks. It is OK to detect the beach part of the parks but not anything over the dune line. Also, Cape Henlopen has some unexploded ordinance areas so make sure he steers clear of there.

In Rehoboth, all the way down to the south of the beach is the "all mens" beach. That might be a place to find some decent gold. If you friend is hamdsome, he might want to wait until late afternoon to avoid being hit on. ;D

All of this info is 7 years old, but should still be good.

Remember, coin beach is only 5 miles south of Rohoboth. Park on the north side of the inlet and work north to the old lifeguard station.

If your friend is looking for something treasure related to do, there are three treasure related museums near there. The Zwaanendale (sp?) museum in Lewes has items from the DeBraak wreck. There is a sunken treasure display at the community college in Georgetown (20 min.) that has 30+ lb silver ingots, cannons, etc. And by far the coolest is the shipwreck museum in Fenwick. It is located above the sea shell city right on the highway. It is well worth the 35 min. trip from Rehoboth.

As I said, this info a little out of date, but simple checking with town PD and the De DNR will get you current.

Good luck and let us know.

Better yet, do a search on the "Faithful Steward". It is a shipwreck just south of the Indian River Inlet. This past winter there was a lot that was found due to the Nor'Easters that came through.
Check it out in this months Eastern & Western Treasures Magazine!

Good Luck!

Have fun, I The beach is fine to be hunted. It has been replenished in the last couple years so you're going to find some WW2 junk but there is also some good stuff.

It's also hunted everyday
