In a box of my grandfather's belongings do they have any value

As to value , show some more pics with them spread out a bit ,and with a coin for size reference. Most garnets are not precious gems ( tsavarite may be an exception) but if large enough , with nice color, are often used in rings , and earrings -usually in silver.

What could they be ?

Very nice Owlx ! You have some real beauties there ! In response to your question " what could they be ?"- they are stream washed/tumbled garnets .

Any monitary value for these tumbled garnets

You could try looking online , as though you were looking to buy garnets like yours .. or if you have a nearby gem and mineral shop - take them in !

They are worth something especially if they are suitable for faceting. Unfortunately garnets are on the low end of the price scale. Not going to be worth the big money you are probably hoping for.

Why are some different colors though like red pink n orange even purple?

Garnets vary in colour. That is how they are found out in the field. If you were local I would gladly buy them. They also come in green. Green garnets are where the money is.

Yes, there is some value to them but they are small. Garnets are relatively inexpensive gemstones. If you had an idea where they came from, that could add some value to them.

How much would u pay for them

How much would they sell for ?

There are lots of sale ads that sell large lots of polished garnet stones. Just Google it.
