Red Clay Coin

I found this at a yard sale this weekend near New Market, VA. I thought maybe a coin from a potter that was put in a plastic protector and sold as a keychain or other type of souvenir.

It's about the same size as a quarter and maybe 1/4 inch thick. The case is sealed so I can't get an accurate measurement.

Any thoughts
