Those are pretty basic APCO "10-codes" (radio codes) for Law enforcement... most likely from the 1970s...

Most departments sorta branched out from the original ones and formed their own versions, that are basically similar.

The Crown may be a radio manufacturer symbol...

Bendix???

:dontknow:

That's a big 10 - 4 good buddy!

Re: Rectangle "10 code" item

Yup, APCO 10 codes. Maybe from a radio scanner purchase? Today most PDs only use a few of these codes (and there are several versions) and there is a move to go to plain English since when several agencies may operate at a scene there could be confusion. Of course several of the major PDs seem to think that codes are a better way. I guess they think the codes are a secret from the bad guys. I speak from over 28 yrs of experience. Retired now.

Re: Rectangle "10 code" item

The ten codes were and still are in use by local law enforcement. I used them with a few variations in meaning for over 21 years. The military used the international phoenetic alphabet but law enforcement had a different phoenetic alphabet, ie: Military Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, law enforcement used Adam, Baker,Charlie, David, etc. I went directly from the military to law enforcement and had a devil of a time changing. I don't recall seeing that chart attached to any of our police equipment however, but I am sure that was the intent. Unusual but nice find. Monty
