Recommendations on a Highbanker recycler

Hi, I'm looking to buy a highbanker soon, and I'm hoping I can get some good suggestions and/or information on them. I would prefer one with legs and have its runoff contents go into a large bucket so I can recycle the water. More of a portable highbanker that does not require a stream. I live in southern California. Most of the highbanker recycling systems I see are too small, so I'm looking for one larger than the mini. Does anyone know of some larger ones?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Many decent highbankers but it's the ungodly problems associated with recirculation wherein the problems arise. Especially in the deserts with that nasty gumbo soup caliche to plug things up. Feeding with a miniscule garden trowel is not production efficent. Go detect in winter and drywash all others and 99% of the problems disappear with the bureauratz and insane regulations too-tons a au 2 u 2 -John

The only problem is I suck at metal detecting...thats why I'm hesitant on purchasing one. I used to metal detect with my father and I've never found anything other than bullet casings and trash.

any highbanker can do the recirc. thing.gpm flows x 60=size of the pump needed.most electric pumps have a gallons per hour rating.been recircing this g-1 unit,50 gpm all is needed,pool pump off a quiet honda generator would work,or a big bilge pump.or 3 small ones whatever.bigger unit=bigger reservoir,more money in pumps=better intake screening configuration.riffles require higher flows,as does miners moss.toss the riffles,try expanded metal screen over carpet.better fines recovery/less water needed.should always have a decent metal detector around to check the grizzly tailings end of each day.when running lots of material,small tub inside a big tub,sluice dumps into little tub,which itself overflows into the big tub.which is where the pump(s)/footvalves are.up off the bottom of the second,larger tub.main problem these settups is protecting the pump impeller/casing from pebbles/sand.or losing prime altogether.tubs can have an incline,letting silt settle to lower end.pumps on the high side.

how many gpm s would th letrap require?think any drop riffle/carpetless design way to go.amazing thing bout g-1,24 inch trays requiring only 50 gpm.very gentle flow while still handling a fair amount of material.even ran it as 2.5 suction nozzle dredge last year,3.5 honda full throttle.(shallow bedrock)most of the fines are caught in the hopper riffles.ABOVE the grizzly screen.can only guess about the trap sluice,has a 10 inch bottom?frank c of the desert forum was building a letrap banker about a year or so ago.curious about the water requirement.g-1 really shines as a sampler.also as a cleanup machine.those angled drop riffles are deep.takes a bit of spraying and swishing to clean em out proper.

I just put a highbanker together using my Le Trap sluice. Still have a few mods to finish it up. Not a recirc, but going to use a small motor and clear water pump. Now, just need some warm weather!

patch, i like that frame too. nice rig. if that will handle a 2.5 " ------that's not too bad , not too bad at all ! lookin , does yours do good ?

recently took 3 4inch uh boomer cleanups.screened only to 10 mesh.turned on the g-1 spraybar,threw it all in the hopper an had a beer.re-ran the fine tailings twice.had missed 2 specks.re-screened to 30 mesh,ran again.nothing.had reduced nearly full 5gal. bucket of black heavies down to about 3 cups.have always been skeptical regarding the concentrates upgrading themselves.in other words,heavier black sands displacing the lighter ones.and i know it does not work that way with impacted carpets/mosses.hardly need my big panning machine anymore.as a 2.5 suction settup it did very well.grizzly tends to load up,would keep a long handled garden hoe close,3 swipes here,3 swipes there.bummer how kids grow up.was nice having box tenders.

i did try to look up IGR placer mining systems but nothing came up. i would like to check out there site. also the folks at california sluice box have a similar set up as the g-1 and was wondering if anyone has used one.

I checked out California Sluice Box. Their's is nothing light the Mighty-Max. Check this addy http://www.igrminingsystems.com/ this is a true recirculating highbanker. Great design and nicely put together, and the price is great.

and for the price it comes with a 21/2 hp. motor and is ready to work out of the box as it includes pump. It has two modes of operation, single pass if pumping from a stream, or recirculating mode with two plastic totes. Of course, volume is much higher from a stream!! I will post next week after it hasbeen tested out at my friende shop in Arizona!! John B
