Hey everyone, I decided I needed something to keep me in the game this summer so I've been looking around at videos of recirculating sluices. I'm pretty sure I've looked at every video on YouTube to get ideas. Yesterday was my birthday and my dad said he'd help me build a setup. Ill post pics of our project along the way. I've got two 125 gpm pumps which is probably way more power than Ill ever need.. Today we started on the stand for the sluice to sit on. Just have to drill some holes in the wood near the top of the box to slide a rod through to make it adjustable for different angles. Here's a pic. (The crash box that's on there is for dredging not this project just didn't feel like taking it off.. Lol) ill get better pics as we go this was taken at a weird angle because its in the garage at the moment..

That is great! I have a small clean up sluice I have been planning on building a stand for. What you built is exactly what I have been planning in my head.

Cool! Its just made out of a bunch of 2 by 4s we had laying around. It worked out perfect though! I think we're going to work on the setup more tomorrow maybe some plumbing and the containers for the water. Ill post pics.

The pump is now mounted and the adjustable rod that holds the top of the back end of the sluice is installed. Just need to do some plumbing and wiring and ill be set. I have to wait for parts to get here though.. Some of the fittings I had to order online.

Looks good!

New header box made and installed. Just got most of my parts earlier today. Tomorrow I hope to find some 1 1/2 inch hose for between the pump and the header box, buy a classifier and do the plumbing. Pics will be posted =]

The electrical and plumbing between the pump and the header box is done now. Just have to finish the plumbing between the two barrels and the 2nd barrel and the pump then it should be running. Ill post again when it's done.

Project complete! I'll post better pics of the whole thing later. Had just enough time to finish up and test it out before I had to leave.

Nice job. Enjoy your posts.

Good work! ...now get it dirty :)

Thanks! The only thing left to do is fix a leak at the base of the header box where it hooks up. Then I have to wait for the creek to dry up... And then the fun begins!

It's good to see young men getting into something other that trouble....LOL
For a young man you have some nice building skills.
Best of luck to you and God bless!

PS. Ummm just wondering why you'er waiting on the creeks to dry up?

I've got a creek near my house that has some good gold in it. There's one hole in particular that is too deep to get material out anymore and I found 1.25 ounces around the edge of it earlier this year. So I'm waiting for it to dry up then I'm going to take the material home and process it there.
