A heavily used Big Sandy with fire pops, Waratan?, Quartzite Savannah River, Chert Sav. River, side notch, not sure on type.

Here's a few more, missed out on in-situs on most of these, flipped them before taking a pic. Last two are pictures of the area I've been hunting. Washouts and erosion along a valley beside a creek and several natural springs.

Strong work T-7, very nice pieces. Classic nutting stone. Was the opposite side also dimpled?

I've attached a nutting stone I happened onto last year. Notice that a portion of the edge is missing. The reverse side has a similar cavitation, perfectly center.

Thanks Doc. Yes that piece is pitted on both sides. " Perfectly center ", I've noticed that the majority I find are centered and balanced. Makes me think they were more likely pitted hammerstones. Jmo.
