recent ohio field finds

havent been out much in the last couple weeks,these were found two weekends ago.the pic with the long blade and glass repro were the prize for bravowhiskeys quiz that some of you may have seen.was very stoked to get those in the mailbox.bravo you rock

Those two points from bravo look cool, nice prize. Your finds from a couple of weekends ago look great. Alot of nice artifacts and alot of humping. Are they creek finds or field, nice ground either way. good luck on future hunts. Been to hot for me last week or so to get out much but its starting to drive me especialy after reading and looking at yours and everyone else's post. thanks for shareing. JYD...

its a big sandy or newton falls,you can see it in pic 10 top row.it does have damage to one side of the base.thought it was whole until i pickd it up.found it on the big hump west of house in the center of field.

not sure it is missing a portion of the base.the flaking looks early.your guess is as good as mine.the material is killr.maybe an expert from those parts(texas)will help us out.

yea JYD bravowhiskey hooked me up!these are all field finds,think 3 trips to the same spot, one hunt was only a couple of hours,but alot of humping indeed.yea the heat has been ridiculous in your neck of the woods,maybe go at night with a flashlight??lol.have heard of guys doing that with some success.

Man that Bravowhiskey is one nice guy. What an asset to this forum. I can not beleive you are still finding things in fields. Our corn here is 6 feet tall already and soy beans are kickin. Its all creeks and river here.Going tomorrow to see a massive shelter where I told you about on that property.I will try to take some pics if I can find it. Nice show. I really thought I would win something,,lol

Its all creeks and river here.Going tomorrow to see a massive shelter where I told you about on that property.I will try to take some pics if I can find it. Nice show. thx all.yea that bravowhiskey is rockn.we got some fields that are that tall but i still hunt the corn no matter how tall.It can suck on a hot day but most hunters wont be out in it so i know i wont see any footprints,and my farmers dont care.impossible to hunt the bean fields,i dont even go in them once they plant beans.I will be in the creeks and rivers alot soon.going digging tomorrow at a spot 5 miles from the flint ridge quarrys,hope to be posting some good pics.looking forward to seeing pics from your spot.im as surprised as you that i won.lol.maybe i will do a quiz that you can have a shot at winning.lol.have a good hunt.

no didnt go on dig,got cancelled,going to a huntn buddys spot and had to put it off until next weekend.the weather down your way has been cooking.we are supposed to have high 60's this week.go figure!90's last week and supposed to be 68 on weds.hope you get some of the cool weather too,you guys could use a break from the heat.

Diff'rent strokes on this one. Back when I had cornfields to hunt, I only gave it a break for a couple or three weeks when it was up to the point where the leaves were cutting my face. (Walking bent over gets tiresome after a while). Once it was up past that point and those particular leaves had drooped, it was back at 'em again.

Have located a bunch of rock shelters in the Tennessee valley sunday, test holes show charcoal at 3 feet always better pickings then the fields in the summer which I already hunted several times. It gets hot here and there is plenty of river shell sites also. To many sites not enough time. Never have had a year where I could hit everything.

thats the stage my fields are at rite now,wait a few weeks and the corn will be over my head,and then back at it.tried a week ago and it was either get hit in the face or almost crawl.im not that die hard.lol.

I went and found some non dug shelters.Did a post called rock shelters or something like that. I could use some help on those old points I showed. We found three like that red one and have never sen anything like it again. Give me your thoughts?
