Went to my favorite spot in WV today. I had a feeling it would be a good day after I saw that they had an MX race on the field and we've had several storms move though the area. Besides a hammerstone and a small polished game ball I found some archaic points, mostly early archaic. The Kanawha stemmed piece is well ground, not sure how to type it, any ideas? Are Table Rocks ground? They're more of a midwest type I think. I'm wondering if this piece is an earlier lance variant.
I was feeling good about the days haul and decided to leave. Got to my ride and realized I'd left my water bottle and other ' necessities ' at the edge of the field. As I was half jogging to retrieve them I noticed a " flake " I'd missed earlier. I grabbed my drink and walked back to that promising flake and kicked it ( not good etiquette, I know ) , out comes two nice points and another in the dirt underneath them. All three look like they were made by the same man. They have squared tips and unfinished bases like some cache points have. I dug about a foot down and 2 feet across and didn't find anymore, Heck of a day! HH Everyone
